How to Pray the Althea Way - A beginners and refresher guide to Affirmative Prayer
Affirmative prayer reflects the certainty that we are each being led to our highest good, despite any temporary appearances.
Metaphysicians believe that thoughts transmit magnetic energy and this energy attracts other energy of the same frequency. Whether you are conscious of it or not, your thoughts are transmitting energy that is attracting more of the same. When you remain focused on your intentions and feelings, you will draw those items and experiences into physical form.In this version of Affirmative prayer we will provide the basic principles of Affirmative prayer. We will explore through meditation, reflection and affirmative prayer how to expand our capacity to experience true peace, prosperity and health for ourselves and the world.
In our weekly gatherings we will:
- Review and practice the fundamentals of affirmative prayer
- Explore the subconscious to heal any blocks
- Releasing the great "How" to the universe
- Meditate and reflect on expanding our higher consciousness

Althea Center's Spiritual Director: Rev. Christina Jones
Rev. Christina Jones is Althea Center's Spiritual Director and a Religious Science CSL minister, certified personal development coach, inspirational speaker, dietitian, and author.
Prior to her becoming Althea's Spiritual Director, she had been active in the New Thought/New Age movement since childhood. Seven generations of powerful ancestors in her lineage have passed on metaphysical and spiritual principles from her family traditions from Africa and other cultures.
Christina has supported various non-profit foundations, domestic violence shelters, and homeless shelters nationwide. She also supports numerous law enforcement officers in Colorado in Crisis Intervention Training (CIT).
Christina celebrates life with her husband, dances, and thrives in the magical mountains of Denver, Colorado.
Rev. Christina is the founder and creator of DivineFeminineEvolution.org, a new CSL-affiliated Focus Ministry, celebrating the Divine Feminine in all.

Bob Bercaw - Althea Board President
The very first time Bob and his husband, Jerry, attended Althea during a visit to Denver in 2019, he knew it would be his spiritual home as soon as they relocated to Denver. Bob became interested in Eastern Philosophy/Religions after living in Korea and Japan from 1967-1970. His search for a place in the US where he would feel at home finally happened in 1989 when a New Thought center in San Francisco “found” him. He became a licensed Religious Science Practitioner in 1991 and absolutely loves that way that the Althea community is so open, inclusive, and dedicated to exploring the mystical teaching of all religions.
Bob has served on Boards at other Spiritual Communities for many years as Treasurer, Vice President, and President, and looks forward with love and excitement, to continue growing spiritually through being a part of this amazing Community. Now almost fully “retired” Bob enjoys exploring Denver (still searching for new bakeries, and ice cream parlors), reading, and weaving on Lilla, his Swedish loom.
