BLACK NATIVITY by Langston Hughes
Directed by Alicia Young

BLACK NATIVITY, a joyous holiday musical, is a modern retelling of the traditional account of the Nativity story from an African-American perspective. Using gospel music, African beats, dramatic dance, and a Biblical narrative, BLACK NATIVITY opened for a limited run of 57 performances at Broadway's 41st St. Theatre on Dec. 11, 1961. It was written and conceived by one of the legendary leaders of the Harlem Renaissance — Black playwright, poet, novelist, and social activist Langston Hughes.

Venue:
Vintage Theatre Productions
1468 Dayton Street
Aurora, CO 80010

We have just 50 tickets for this matinee performance reserved for the Althea Center. We are inviting members of Sage Singers to join us. Our discounted group ticket price is $30 (regular price with ticket fee is $40). Based on sales, each organization will make $4 per ticket (a small fundraising aspect), but this is primarily a community-building activity.
